Festival to be held at St Andrews Church, Colyton – 19 to 22 June 2014

Each day of the Exhibition will open at 10 am.   There will be about 35 exhibits, many of which will have been arranged by prominent organisations in the Colyton area, including the Churches from the Holyford Mission Community.   These will all feature Bridal flowers and fashion – the dresses will illustrate bridal gowns from the early 20th century, including two from WWII, the material for which was purchased using clothing coupons, as well as a deep red bridal dress from 1963!   In addition, some Honiton Lace wedding veils will be on display, loaned by Honiton Museum, whose collection of Lace is numbered among the finest in the world.

Each day there will be live music in the Church.   Refreshments will be available throughout the festival.

There will be formal Concerts at the Church at 7.30pm in the evenings, on Thursday, an Organ Recital by Andrew Millington, the renowned Director of Music at Exeter Cathedral, on Friday, a Concert of choral music given by the choir of St Andrews Church and finally on Saturday a Concert by some Young Musicians whose mature talents are all the more remarkable because they are all still at school.

The ticket price for the Concerts will be £6 each, but anyone wishing to attend all 3 concerts may obtain a “Festival Ticket” for £15 – all tickets may be obtained from the Colyton Pharmacy, and of course will be available on the door before each Concert.   Children under 16 will be admitted at no charge.

On Sunday, the Exhibition will end with a Service of Thanksgiving at 6.30pm, at which the sermon will be delivered by Canon Jane Wilson, who is the Bishop’s Advisor for Women’s Ministry.
